Salem Community Fire Rescue Protection Association, Inc. Its annual meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Salem Fire & Rescue Station #1 at 1315 Salem Road, Morganton.

Friendly Tuesday Club It will meet at the Sleepy Hollow Picnic Area at the J. Iverson-Riddle Development Center at 10 a.m. The meeting will be a meal.

Advance care planning workshop

The organization will be celebrating their achievements for the year and anyone interested in making a difference in animal welfare in the community should feel free to attend, meet the team and learn more about REASON.

Lake James Camping Resort & Marina, 5786 Benfield Landing Road, Nebo, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m

Lake James Community Center It will host free bingo from 6-9pm, with a variety of hot food available for purchase to benefit Shiloh AME Church’s Relay for Life team. The food on sale will include barbecue, hot dogs and french fries, and the food will be available to eat at or to go in the community center. The community center is located one mile from the Lake James Fire Department on NC 126. The event is open to the public.

Shiloh AME Church’s Relay for Life team She will be hosting a fish fry at the Lake James Fire Department on NC 126 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fry includes a fish sandwich with a drink and dessert. The team will also be accepting applications for Relay for Life luminaries.

Glen Alpine Women’s Club She will be hosting a fish fry from 11 a.m. at 123 WS Butler St., Glen Alpine. Dishes will be $10 and will include two pieces of fish, beans, bread, slaw, drink, and dessert. Paintings will be sold until they are sold out.

Retired Burke County School Staff A school supply drive-through for school or junior teachers will be held from 1-3 p.m. in the east parking lot of Morganton First Baptist Church. They are looking for help supporting new professionals as they begin their career teaching children. Financial donations will also be accepted.
